OPENING SOON
The Manor House Estate was the elegant home of J. Luther Snyder, the most famous of Chetola's owners. Snyder purchased Chetola Estate in 1926. Also known as "the Coca Cola King of the Carolinas," Snyder's wife held frequent celebrations and parties that were the talk of Blowing Rock in the 1930s and 1940s.
The Manor House Restaurant at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock is currently under renovation, with a spectacular redesign that offers additional waterfront dining on Chetola Lake. In early 2012 Chetola will re-open its remodeled restaurant as Timberlake’s Restaurant, featuring a menu inspired by world-renowned North Carolina artist Bob Timberlake’s culinary favorites.
Bob, who is known for creating things of exceptional artistry and imagination, took a page from his cookbook, Recipes from Home, as the impetus behind the distinctive menu. From Mesquite-dusted shrimp and salads of mountain-grown spinach, to Carolina-raised trout and Marsala duck breast, each dish fashioned by Chef Michael Barbato will be one worth savoring. A mouth-watering selection of pizzas made in house, barbecue-accented seafood, tender Angus beef and herb-encrusted poultry will also tempt palates of all tastes.
Timberlake's Restaurant is expected to open in Spring 2012.
Currently, however, we are preparing and cooking food at an offsite location in order to continue serving our guests a hot breakfast buffet daily in the Appalachian/Blue Ridge Room on our main floor. Complimentary shuttle service is provided nightly to Blowing Rock area restaurants from 5pm - 10 pm. And when we re-open as Timberlake's, we will continue to offer our outstanding buffets on Mother's Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve and during special events such as the " Symphony on the Lawn" by Chetola Lake in July.
